Yes, you can apply the peel-n-stick tiles over existing vinyl sheet flooring - in fact that's the preferred underlayment. When I'm applying vinyl tiles over an uneven plywood subfloor, I'll put down a cheap sheet vinyl to provide a smooth subfloor.





And--- No, they won't come up easily - at least not if they were installed correctly (and when they do come up, they'll leave a sticky residue).





But here's a simple solution. Put down a second layer of cheap sheet vinyl flooring on top of the first (do NOT use adhesive), and apply your tiles to it. yes you can, just make sure the tile or sheeting you're going to put it over isnt comming up from anywhere. Also make sure the surface is very clean before you put the adhesive flooring. Many people do it this way, it's not the best way but it does work.
If you clean and remove all the floor wax, make sure the floor is clean but, you won't be able to take it up again. Once that tile (peel and stick) is down, it's going to stay for good.


The only way your going to ';take it up'; is both floors. You could go to a carpet ';peel and stick'; floor, I did this in my basement. It doesn't stick but adhere's so it doesn't move about. I have taken it up for various reasons and put it back down, works very well.





Go to a carpet store and see if they don't have remnants that you could be cheap, enough to cover your floor.
