Can i use tile grout to stick down floor tiles. ie. as an adhesive.?

i was wondering why you cant use tile grout to actualy stick the floor tiles down.grout sticks to each tile,so why not to the floor and the tile.why do you need a spesific adhesive. Can i use tile grout to stick down floor tiles. ie. as an adhesive.?
The grout is to be used only to grout the tiles. Use a thinset, to lay the tiles to the floor. The grout will not stick to the floor not to mention, grout is very expensive compared to a bag of thinset. I have added a link to an article that goes further into laying tile. Hope this helps.

It only sticks to the tile from friction and the drying effect. This is not enough to hold it in place with people walking on it.
every one seems to have answered your question use thin set mortar mix or mastick specificlly designed for your floor surface and tile
floor tiles need a cement adhesive ( dries solid), grout dries almost chalky, visit your local tile centre, they will advise on the correct adhesive.
Nope, you definitely need something that will actually adhere surface to surface. Grout essentially just fills the gaps between the tiles.
