Is there a special adhesive to help make self sticking tiles stick to the floor?

I have yet to see a good self adhesive anything.

Go to the home center and purchase some VCT floor tile adhesive and the correct hand trowel to spread it on the floor. This will be a notched trowel.

The adhesive you want is the one that dries clear when it is ready to install the tile.

Snap a chalkline on the subfloor after you shop vac it really good. The chalkline should either be at the exact center of the room both ways, or 6'; offset from center, which ever gives you the largest border tile around the perimeter of the room.

Spread adhesive starting at the wall farthest from the doorway and work your way backwards.

When done wait for the adhesive to turn clear, then start laying your tile on your chalkline, lay about 4 tiles (4') wide working right down the chalkline going toward the far wall. Then start filling in the other full tiles. Leave all the cut tiles until last.

I like to cut all the border or edge tiles with a tilecutter (you can rent them).

Also remember if your floor tile is directional * you need to alternate the tile so they don't lay in the same direction. Ask the home center if your tiles are directional if you are not sure.

After you are done, clean up any adhesive with mineral spirits.

Your tiles will never pucker at the edges or start coming up if you use this adhesive vs. self sticking.

Self stick tiles only work when your subfloor is smooth and it needs to be sealed with a mix of

50% shellac and 50% denatured alcohol. Apply mix and ventilate room/let dry. This is the only way to use self stick tiles.

This is a great step to use in all bathrooms even with regular VCT tile. The shellac/alcohol mix seals the subfloor especially around the toilet, tub, shower, vanity. It helps keep the subfloor from buckling up when the toilet overflows,or the shower curtain was not shut completely, etc. An old floor installer told me about this - it's a great extra step if you like to do this top notch. Is there a special adhesive to help make self sticking tiles stick to the floor?
You shouldn't need one. Just make sure the floor is clean and dust free.Is there a special adhesive to help make self sticking tiles stick to the floor?
and you're not trying to install them over a subfloor (e.g., bare concreete that has water vapor coming up through it)
