Can self-adhesive vinyl floor tiles be used on a wall?

Funny you should ask this question.................. I worked for a company that owned some nursing and assisted living facilities. The owners wanted to remodel the facilities but didn't want to spend very much money. One of the owners came up with the big idea of putting self adhesive tiles on the walls. I must admit, the tiles looked very good, however they were continuously popping off of the walls. It was a big head ache trying to keep those tile on the wall. In one of the other facilities we put the tiles on the wall but used a contact cement to help hold the tiles. This also did not work very well. The tiles were falling off of the wall all of the time and we spent a lot of time putting them back on the walls. It seems that floor tile has a lot of oil in it and the oil keeps the glue from bonding to the tile. I definitely would not recommend putting floor tiles on the walls unless you want to spend several hours per week putting them back up after they have fallen offCan self-adhesive vinyl floor tiles be used on a wall?
What goes up, must come down! Better check with the landlord , because if you live in apartment, you have to leave it the way you found it.Can self-adhesive vinyl floor tiles be used on a wall?
If you want to, but I personally don't think it's very attractive.
Why not?? They will stick better to the wall than they will to the floor! and better yet, they won't have doggie and kiddle tracks all over them!

Really! Why Not! They are washable, more so than the paint available.

Who said they only had to be walked on??
They may stick for awhile, but they will eventually fall off. The adhesive is not strong enough to support the weight of the tile, and gravity will win, sooner or later.

If you want tiled walls, invest in ceramic or marble tiles. These, of course are affixed with tile adhesive that will *keep* them on the walls.
Sure, but don't try walking on them!
