How do I remove adhesive from a floor that had peel and stick tile?

We removed the peel and stick tile from one room but it has sticky residual glue all over the floor and I have no idea how to remove it?

Other than a razor blade and maybe some Goo gone. Any suggestions? How do I remove adhesive from a floor that had peel and stick tile?
You're talking about a large area, right? It's very hard to do and people (who do it right) don't normally do that. By the way....is the tile you pulled up old? Cause if it is, there's a good chance it contained asbestos and you may have breathed a whole bunch of it in.

The professional way to deal with preparing a new floor (I've done it numerous times) is to put another layer of plywood down. Depending on the transitions between your rooms, you could lay 1/4'; of 1/2'; down. That will give you a nice smooth surface in preparation for your new flooring.... whether it be more peel and stick tile, real tile, or linoleum. How do I remove adhesive from a floor that had peel and stick tile?
mineral spirits is the product we pro's use to remove it.
I threw down fine sand first so I wasn't sticking to the floor .then I used heat gun and a scraper to get the big spots then spirits after that.
belt sander-like 40 or 60 grit should do the trick
finger nail polish remover
goof off you can buy it at home depot

If it is a large area solvents may not be the economical way to do this. Sometimes they don't work. Scraping or power sanding works for me. If that creates unacceptable unevenness use a ';floor levelling'; compound.
Lacquer Thinner.Don`t over do it put it on a rag and rub the area the glue will disolve
The best thing I've ever used to remove glue residue is WD-40. Normally I spray it on a paper towel, then hold the paper towel over the glue to loosen it. But if you have a large area to cover, just spray a thin film on the glue and use something abrasive like a Scotch Brite pad to massage the WD-40 in.

After it's clear the glue is loosened, you can remove most of it with a putty or ice scraper, then use any degreasing solution (Dawn in water, window cleaner, 409) to remove the rest.
