i am putting a new floor in my kitchen , to be honest i am trying to find the less expensive way to do it .so if i can save money by not using the cement board i would like to.Ceramic floor tile? is there an adhesive that can be used directly over wood to install ceramic floor tile?
Yes, but it's only recommended on exterior grade plywood. You might be able to get away with interior plywood, but if you plan on keeping the house for a long time, bite the bullet and do it the right way or you'll be ripping the whole thing up in a few years and doing it all over. There went the cost savings out the window then.
