How do I remove old adhesive from a wood floor?

I have a wood floor that years ago the past owner put floor tile on. The adhesive is black and still sticky. Once the tile is removed how do I remove that adhesive. How do I remove old adhesive from a wood floor?

Goo Gone is the only thing I can think of.

if you go to ur local hardware store there is a product called TSP90....however that may require a lot of time to use...you can also use a product called ';tile and grout remover'; which works very well...good luck
WD40 removes the sticky residue things leave behind...even duck tape!
goo gone at home depot%26gt; It works on a lot of stuff and never leaves damage
any varnish remover should help..You could also apply a modest amount of heat (using a tool you would rent from a company like Taylor Rental I forget what its called but it looks like a blow dryer)...and scrape it off as it softens
goo gone or rubbing alcohol, if it doesn't ruin the finish.
goo gone is wonderful

mineral spirits may work too
Gee everyone makes it seem so easy. It was done years ago so it is solvent based adhesive. Those remover solutions that people are talking about are mostly for spot removels not large areas. Chances are that the glue has sucked into the grain of the wood especially if it's oak. Go to a flooring place and ask them what to use (not a home center, those people know jack sh*t).Better yet ask them what it would cost for them to remove it.
Turpintine and elbow grease.
