or you can mop it and then use something to scrape it up while it's moist
Apparently there are adhesive removers, ';With the old vinyl removed, the only way to remove the remaining paper backing and dried glue is to use an adhesive remover. Apply it with a brush and spread it out evenly. This glue is extremely strong, so use a fan to ventilate the room to the outside of the house. Once the glue soaks it, the paper backing and vinyl come up much easier.';

My uncle and I used a heat gun and scraped the glue off.
Try an ice cube on it as you would for removing chewing gum.When it has become ';frozen'; gently lift it with a knife.
I bet Oops would work with little physical effort, but you MUST ventilate the room. We bought a home that is 42 years old with lots of glued down carpets that had to be cleaned up from the hardwood floors underneath! Ventilate, ventilate!
M3 makes a adhesive remover
Try GOO_GONE. That stuff gets just about anything off of any surface//hope i helped.
Go to the hardware store and ask for TSP. It is a powder form that you mix with water. It breaks down glue and varnish very well. You may need a shop vac to suck up the excess water.
acetone works wonders
hammer and a paint scraper
There is a Cleaner called ...Goof OFF ! Home Depot carries it. And, it smells so good ... like Orange's ...It's good for alot of things around the house, car,etc.
For little spots, I know Acetone/Nail polish remover works well.
